Neighborhooding: The 8th, Paris

Acting natural

Prior to our joint bachelor/ette in Paris, we visited in February 2023 on a wedding planning trip to France, staying in the 8th for the first time. An upscale neighborhood on the right bank, the 8th arrondisement is the perfect spot to take in the luxe side of Paris.

Check In

Living room image 1

As much as I’d like to check into the Four Seasons or the Bvlgari hotel on Av. George V, I can’t swing $2k/night (sadly) so it’s this Airbnb on Marbeuf for me. Located a few blocks from George V. and off a classic French courtyard, this ground-floor apartment came with an in-person check-in, personal recommendations for nearby restaurants and a welcome bottle of champagne.

Where to Eat

Chez Gala: the festive, nostalgic Mediterranean restaurant & cocktail bar near the Champs-Élysées - Sortiraparis.com
Chez Gala

Chez Andre: Around the corner from our Airbnb, this spot came recommended by the host. A great neighborhood bistro with a sidewalk seafood display.

Le Relais de l’Entrecote: There’s always a line, but it’s worth it for infinity steak frites.

Chez Gala: A vibey, Middle Eastern inspired supper club.

Where to Drink

The terrasse at Chez Francis

Chez Francis: Grab a seat on the patio facing the Eiffel Tower and order a glass of champs.

Le Bar at Hôtel Plaza Athénée: Can’t afford a room but can appreciate a cocktail in this stunning hotel bar.

Crazy Horse: I’ve never been, but I’d be remiss not to mention this famous burlesque show around the corner from the Airbnb.

Where to Shop

Not a photo of Av. Montaigne but another gratuitous photoshoot shot

Av. Montaigne: Home to every major designer you can imagine.

Worth an Excursion

Sacre-Coeur & Montmartre: Get lost on the steep staircases throughout Montmartre and grab a pic from Sacre Coeur overlooking the entire city.
