Miami: The Best Dog-Friendly Restaurants, Bars, Beaches & More

Haulover Dog Beach, Miami

In 2021, Bill became a snowbird, heading south for a month or two every winter. This year, he road tripped down to Florida with Reggie, and I flew down to visit them on the weekends. With a month split between Miami on the east coast and Tampa on the west coast, we sought out the best dog-friendly spots in South Florida.

While Tampa takes the cake for being more dog-friendly thanks to its abundance of outdoor dog park bars, Miami still deserves a spot as one of the most dog-friendly cities in the US. I was pleasantly shocked to discover how many places allowed dogs inside. And even if you were outside and it was on the cooler side, Miami restaurants tend to fire up the patio heaters as soon as it drops below 75 so no complaints here!

Here are our favorite dog-friendly spots in Miami.

Dog-Friendly Miami Restaurants

Late night on the patio at Mandolin

Stiltsville: Located in Sunset Harbor, this Key West style restaurant has a bunch of indoor & outdoor dog-friendly seating, great seafood and delicious cocktails. They also have a great happy hour.

Mandolin: We came here during our first trip to Miami back in 2019 sans Reggie and loved the Mediterranean food, so had to check it out with Reggie in 2024. The food still slaps and everyone loved saying hi to Reggie on the patio.

Pastis: Our server sucked, but the food, vibe & decor of this place is great if you’re looking for a French food fix in Miami.

New Schnitzel House: Latkes, sausages and schnitzels may not be the first cuisine you think of for Miami, but this spot was close to our Airbnb and we had a great meal. Really good cocktails and a nice outdoor vibe with a DJ.

Sushi Bichi: Great spot near Surfside for sushi & sake.

Pura Vida: This is probably my favorite thing about Miami, and there are a ton of locations all over. Aesthetic cafes serving healthy-ish food.

Dog-Friendly Miami Bars

Grails in Wynwood

Grails: A sports bar in Wynwood that is packed during games.

1-800-Lucky: An Asian outdoor food court with a DJ that’s open super late for ramen, dumplings and more.

Dog-Friendly Miami Beaches & Parks

Haulover Dog Beach

Haulover Dog Beach: The best and most dog-friendly beach in Miami. All the dogs are off leash and it’s HEAVEN.

Hobie Island Beach Park: Another dog-friendly beach that’s good for cruise ship spotting since it’s near the port.
