This information below is for friends & family who have been invited by Amelia & Bill to stay at Chateau Rigaud. We wish we could have invited everyone, but space is limited and we are very confident that the other suggested accommodations will be just as amazing!
Welcome, Friends & Family
We are fortunate to have a wedding venue where we can host our close family and a few friends. We hope in the months leading up to our wedding weekend, you’ll become just as excited about Rigaud as we are. Take a spin through Rigaud’s website or their Instagram to get a sense of what’s in store.
Overview
Chateau Rigaud is described as a cross between a boutique hotel and a private home. The Chateau itself is nine bedrooms with an additional four bedrooms in the Vineyard Barn. All are lovely with king-sized beds! You can sneak a peek inside here. Like a hotel, there is housekeeping and breakfast every morning, but, like a private home, the property is yours to wander and treat as your own. Lounge by the pool, mix yourself up a G&T at the bar, pour yourself a glass of wine in the afternoon, grab a Nespresso from the kitchen, or head out to the garden with the chefs to see what’s ready to cook. Make yourselves at home at this 12th-century chateau!

Booking Your Room
In Summer 2023, the Chateau will set up our booking website and we’ll make sure to get the link out to everyone ASAP. We have made suggestions to our planner as to who should go in which room, based on mobility, noise factor and privacy. If you have any specific concerns that you have not previously discussed with either Amelia or Bill, please reach out as soon as possible.

FAQ
Some answers to frequently asked questions about staying at Chateau Rigaud –
- Bath Amenities: The room comes stocked with shampoo, body wash, body lotion and hair dryer. From our visit in February 2023, we learned that you should bring conditioner and toothpaste, since those are not provided.
- Meals: All your meals from Thursday dinner to Monday breakfast are provided. You can communicate any dietary restrictions and allergies directly to our wedding planner, Karen, during the booking process.
- Transportation: Karen will help to coordinate transportation to pick up and drop off people from the train station or airport. If you’d rather strike off on your own and rent a car, feel free! Directions on how to get to the Chateau are below, but it’s easy enough to just type ‘Chateau Rigaud, Mouliets-et-Villemartin’ into Google Maps or Waze.
- Laundry Services: There is an iron, ironing board and steamer at the Chateau. We also have access to a washer & dryer onsite. If you are interested in dry cleaning services, please contact Karen for more information.
- Shipping to/from the Chateau: We are welcome to send items directly to the Chateau in advance of our arrival if that would alleviate any inconvenience to checking bags or transporting heavy items. If you choose to do this, address the items to “Karen Ward – Amelia & Bill” at CHATEAU RIGAUD, 14 AVENUE DES CHÂTEAUX, MOULIETS-ET-VILLEMARTIN, AQUITAINE, 33350 FRANCE. Please give Karen a head’s up if you choose to do this. There is also a door-to-door luggage delivery service called SendMyBag.com.
- Spa Treatments: Rigaud has a small treatment room for massages with house therapist Teresa. Treatments must be booked in advance with Karen. Services include Full Body Massage (60 minutes from €65); Other Areas, such as Back, Neck and Head (45 minutes from €55); Head Massage (30 minutes from €55); Hot Stone Massage (45 minutes from €70).
- Pool: There is a pool and, fingers crossed, it’ll be warm enough to be in it, so bring a bathing suit! Towels and floats are provided.
- Drinks: The Chateau bar will be stocked for our arrival and is self-serve 24/7 with spirits, wine, soft drinks, beer and juices.
- Kitchen: The working kitchen right next to the Chateau bar is where you’ll see the Chateau chef and staff prepare all our meals. This area is stocked with water, ice, fruit, coffee & tea that you can grab yourself 24/7. It is also where breakfast is served buffet-style every morning.
- Weather: We’ll try to host as many meals and activities outside as possible, so keep an eye on the forecast leading up to October 5-9, 2023. The temps can be high during the day and then drop at night, so bring a layer or two for when the sun goes down.
